Field Trip Info:
- Closer is better (transportation costs are ridiculous - it costs $127 just for the bus to drive to and from Huffman from Clark Stadium where the bus depot is.) The cost is $6.75/per mile/per bus, and each bus sits 50-55 students. There are blackout dates due to UIL, testing, other events, etc.
- The earlier we book the more likely we are to have access to Title 1 funding.
- There are also on-campus field trip options through Dallas Zoo, Perot, SciTech, etc.
- PTA has budged $1000 for each grade level for Field Trips. If a discounted or free field trip is booked we are able to help the school with transportation costs.
- Contact Jigy & PTA President to approve trip, and then either the team or PTA can book. If the team books themselves then send forward payment request info to the PTA President.
- Ms. Keller in the office will book transportation so make sure you let her know once a field trip is booked!
- Here is a list of Field Trip Ideas with some basic information. We are happy to do more research if a specific venue is of interest.
PTA also plans and pays for Class parties (December 19, February 14, and May 22). These are held during AMPed in the gym. We fund field day, red ribbon week, teacher appreciation, 5th grade celebrations, multicultural night, free events, and more!

Workroom help starting soon! Parents will sign up to work in the teacher workroom on Wednesdays. They are there to copy, laminate, cut, staple, sort, etc! If there are other tasks that parents can help with please let us know!
We have a Teacher Wishlist fund for miscellaneous requests that pop up during the year. To take advantage of these funds please email Jigy and PTA President who can approve the purchase and work out the details. PTA will only consider requests that Mrs. Sethi has approved.
